Kathleen Johnston

Her own training began at six years old at the Joyce Reeves School of Dance in Quakertown. After high school, she auditioned and was accepted into a ballet company in Stroudsburg and performed as a soloist for several years. The company's artistic director was Kathy Jo Hubner and she was the greatest inspiration in her dance life. She also had the opportunity to take class and work with Trinette Singleton from the Joffrey Ballet. She also has inspired Kathleen to carry on her love of dance, by sharing her knowledge with her students. After she left the ballet company she spent several years choreographing for many musicals and industrials. Kathleen was the resident choreographer for Main Street Theatre for three years, working with dancers from around the country. She also choreographed industrials for Tylenol and Nexus, and worked with an entertainment company on an event for QVC with Joan Rivers. As much as she enjoyed these projects, she realized my true passion lies in teaching. Her rewards come with seeing a child technically master the movement and grow artistically as he/she matures from year to year into a responsible adult, ready to move on to the next facet of his/her life. Hopefully, she has not only made her students better dancers, but also instilled in them moral values, self-discipline, and a true sense of accomplishment in hard work. All of these are values that she hopes they remember for the rest of their lives. |
